from the previous searches i've done, i've gotten inquiries of between 140ish to 150ish for the s2000's top speed. I downloaded a video on kazaa, and the speedo reads 281 (kph) when it is done. I converted that, and it is 173mph! Are they really that fast or is it just this case....go to kazaa and type in "s2000 top speed" and you will find it. I haven't had the opportunity to get mine past 130 or so yet, but DAMN.

 

my personal 153 top up and 145 top down

 

average is 155 top speed, the car is geared to go up to 160 mph but wind resistance causes problems.

 

163 listed in R&T road test. I believe the car in the video you are talking about is not stock.

It was also going "downhill".

 

Every road test I have seen the car has topped at 146 MPH. In fact I was amazed at how consistant that speed seems to be in all tests. That includes Road and track and Car and Driver. A specially modified car with lots of engine mods only did 155 on the Salt Flats. Top speed is drag not gearing limited on the car.
