S2000 tows like a champ!
lol, you guys are still talking about this. I saw this thread about 2 months ago.
There is at least 25,000 S2000 owners on this site. One decides to tow a boat that is heavier than the car. Don't flame, just say good job and don't do it if you think its not safe.
I would never attempt anything like this because IMO the car was not meant for it. It is also not made to be driven at ONLY the speed limit and never tracked or such. But then again, some people might think differently, but looking at the 120 out of 160 at fall colors all running the track, and taking drives throught the country at speeds double the limit, instead of towing boats, it seems as my opinion is in the majority. There is no shame on taking a tool and using it for something it was not originaly designed for as long as you are carefull, which we can all see you were.
But hey, you do what you think is right. When and if (hopefully neither
) you do break something, that will just be a lesson of what not to do.
Until then "Rock on".

Shit ... I think I've pretty well refuted the arguments given in previous pages. I've towed the boat 5 times without any issues at all. That is better than my track / autocross history. The car was definitely not designed for towing (or pulling trucks out of the mud), but it holds up to towing better than it does tracking.
