The biggest problem has been clutch noise, but this has apparently been fixed in the '02. Other FYIs: occasionally uses oil in VTEC, the handling is sensitive to tire pressure, HID headlights sometimes annoy other drivers, few dealer mechanics know anything about the car, windshields get cracked often.
Otherwise, very Honda-like dependability.

Fun driving is the name of the game. price is not an issue if the "fun factor" is experienced.
I think of the three cars mentioned as this:
I think of the miata as the older refined big brother that has been around the block and seen all there is to see and likes simplicity. He can hang out with the young fellas equally well as long as they don't go too fast.
the TT is the Pretty Boy of the group. He is a well dressed modern, preppy kid who has money and class and status. he likes the finer things in life.
the S2000 is the little brother, the "hellion" so to speak. He can outscream and out run every one in the group. He has a devilish badboy quality that the ladies like. Young and strong, he is a little wet behind the ears but has the means to get himself out of trouble as well as into it.
this is just my opinion. get what you want. just have fun.

I think you'll find the Audi, with the options that are standard on the S, will be at least $10K more; even more if you go for the baseball glove seat treatment that is so often touted by reviewers. And, of course, performance-wise it isn't even close.

You shouldn't.

Buy the Boxster or TT. End of story.
