I've personally averaged only 5,000 miles a year on my S2000. It's difficult to rack up the miles when you have a motorcycle to ride in the summer and I don't take the S2000 out on rainy or days when the temp is below freezing. Most of it's use comes in the cool spring and fall days like this week has been and on road trips to events.
The S is going to appreciate not drastically but it will its already doing so. I think the S is going to be the Jap car that breaks the mold on appreciation values. Not many jap cars have appreciated over the years but the S is poised to do so.
I don't care what it is worth, i only care that I enjoy it and can't see anything for tripple the money that comes close in terms of it's value today. i got lucky when i found this car and I ahve never looked back. I have not owned a car this long (going on 7 years now in nov) by choice before!
