S2000 vs CR
If you plan to mod it at all(suspension mainly) get a base S2000. If keeping it all stock then I would get a CR if you don't mind not having a soft top. Good luck either way. Win win decision.
I have owned both, presently have an 08 CR with < 3800 miles. The top issue is not a problem as I have installed a hoist in my garage and can change out in 5 min.
When you have a CR you no longer have a need to read all the threads about soft top tears or failure to go to a complete down position, you don't have one. My vote and experience is for a CR. If you want a CR in ABP, and can separate from $31,000, then PM me.

Why you'd by an M3, a used M3 I don't know.
I've visited the CR forum... and those guys (brethren or no brethren) are weird. Crying over 28k being the car and what not.
Get the car you won't be afraid to drive, and mod the piss out of without regret, life is too short to not do what you want.

CR has most of the upgrades that regular S owners go for. HT, updated exhaust, newer rims, lip and spoiler and upgraded suspension. I would have gotten a CR if I could have (none around).
Go for what you want...the main point is whether or not you want to be able to drive with a convertible top or a HT.

rims - make the car unique and lose weight.
exhaust - CR exhaust is still too quiet and heavy for a sports car - needs some tone
suspension - CR may handle great, but it still sits too high for many
Hardtop - can come off easily but what if you do road trips, day trips,etc...rush home to put on the hard top?
Fair enough, but I think Honda did a good job with the CR. The exhaust is more aggressive than a stock S, the suspension more track oriented and the rims are a little more stylish. I think the bodykit (front lip and wing spoiler) are nice and balance the car fairly well. While this is not necessarily as agressive as some mods go, it's in the direction that most modifications do.
To each their own of course. I love the CR and would have gotten one if I could have.
Most importantly, it's about driving what you enjoy. That's the best advice anyone can give the OP!

. The only way that I will trade MY03 will be the Type S in Europe in a heart beat.
