Default S2000 x-file

Today I went into a Savon (large chain drug store). I left my car (02 blk/blk) with the top down, as I was returning shortly and there was security right there.

Five minutes later I leave the store with my beer and whiskey and hear a repeating honking noise not unlike a dying goose, (the S2000 econo-horn). The headlights are flashing, the car is causing a commotion--I am on the verge of panic. But I gather my wits and hit the remote's buttons. Nothing. I get closer, push all buttons again and the horn ceases.

Big deal you say? Standard car alarm occurence?

The bizarre truth... I don't have an alarm.

And to top it all off I had Mr. and Mrs. Cleaver standing there, clearly respectable people, standing outside their adjacent car telling me that nothing happened. The car started beeping on its own they said.

There were no dings, scratches, or the like so I let it go. But what the hell is going on here. To my knowledge I have no alarm. I bought my car from Honda Hell in the Irvine Auto Circle and if they had been including anything extra at all they would have been sure to A: tell me every chance they got, and B: charge me the absolute most I would have taken up the A$$.

Any theories (short of paranormal phenomena) would be greatly appreciated.

You probably pressed the panic button on the remote (or it got pressed by a key in your pocket).

Did I mention that I am blind and the braille version of the owner's manual hasn't been released yet?

I guess that would make sense. Either the twelve pack of Pacificos or the bottle of Canadian Club must have sensed panic and pressed the button.

I am so embarrassed I am going to sell my S and buy a mustang.
