There may not be anything wrong with a car with 5 previous owners, but if we have a choice, I don't think anyone would prefer on that changed hand 5 or 6 times...
And I would agree with this. But multiple owners wouldn't stop me from buying a car. A used car is a used car, if you know none of the previous owners what difference is there? All you can do is account for the condition it's in at the time of purchase.

I'd take the multi-owner, mildly used car over the single owner vehicle who took it to the track every other week.

I'm the 5th owner of MY00. Yeah it had it's problems, but I enjoyed every bit of it. Learning my car by fixing other people's fook-ups. ^__^

After my 4th year of owning it, I've done nothing but keep it in tippity top condition. It's YOUR love you put in. No matter how many hands it's been in.

But what what Da New Yawka is trying to say is that the potential for not knowing the history of the car is greater as the number of owners goes up. If previous owner tracks their car regularly, most previous owners will probably skip that little detail when trying to sell a car. It's easy to say you'd take the multi-owner car but do you really know it's history? Chances are probably not. At least with a single owner, you have only that one person to figure that out.

That's a lot of previous owners. We aren't talking 2002 Ap1s.
dam, 6 owners in 8 years, i'll admit thats a bit much.

I am the 5th owner on my 2002. I know thats different than the cases you brought up, but the owner before me, the 4th owner, picked it up in 2007. so he was the 4th owner when the car was 5 years old lol. Everything turned out ok so I guess he/we got lucky.

Yep......Corvettes are the same way.Folks buy them with spare money & sell when they need spare money.

It's not unusual to see 5 or more owners in a 10 yr span.

Sports cars are different from "cars". people buy them as toys. Imagine that.

Then they only drive em on nice days, hell they dont even have the experience to fully open it up. Snap oversteer is a bitch.

Bought my car with 4 or 5 previous owners. It was an 03 with 30K on the clock, picked it up for 14 two years ago. Still laughing my ass off. F'in stolen it

When I bought mine I only planned to keep it for a year. I went and looked at a 350z and a 370z today and wasn't impressed. On the way home I took the long way, put the top down, turned the radio up and thought to myself why would I ever think if selling this car.

Number of owners related to problems is a myth. 5 great owners beats 1 bad owner.
