All-wheel-drive or not, the car will use all 4 tires to slow down in snow. If you are worried about your safety, get snow tires regardless of your choice in cars.

Well, I just don't know how to put it . S2K is a very unique sport car and if you even have to think twice about the Honda S2K, then this sport car is not for you . I still remeber so well when I first saw the S2K in the Dallas Auto Show back in 2000 . I must have this sport car in the future when I get settle down. That was my first time went to the any Auto Show and I went back every year since 2000. Now is me and my son hang out place every year at the Dallas Auto Show . Oh this remind me the Dallas Auto Show is next week .

I just dont wanna end up like this one guy I saw posting on Autotrader saying he is selling his S2k because he needs something AWD. Sure snow tires, blah blah blah but I find switching tires every year to be costly and such a hassle(There's always the chance of no snow each winter season up here on the East Coast). Plus I just want a car with the capability of AWD also.............
In the meantime Im pretty blown. I kinda wanted to get a car but in the end my job doesnt pay well(yes, min. wage) in the first place so might as well graduate and get a good job. sigghh

WRX gets boring after about a year. There isn't much that is special about it outside of it's launch. Shifter sucks, it understeers and just feels pretty sloppy. It isn't that fast either, it only traps 100 MPH so outside of it's wicked launch and 0 -60 MPH run it is just meh.

It is a nice car but its not for me.

I say no-go on the STi. S2000 or the evo pictured above would be a great choice as well.

LOL No guys dont get me wrong I still love the S2000 and I love Evos as well. But then if I posted Evo instead of STi, im sure many of you will link my reply to the S2ki article that was up a long time ago on "Why an S2000 is better then an Evo"

I just love the look of the new 2011 STi sedan with the huge wing on the back haha

The whole engine and half the transmission are in front of the front axle.. not good for handling. STi's are one of the most overrated cars. It will handle nothing like a 50/50 weight split FR car with double wishbone suspension front and rear. Go S2000 all the way. Don't listen to one guy who sold his S2K because he couldnt drive it in the snow. I've heard people say dumb things, and a lot of people are bad drivers. They all think they're good, until they get to an autox, the kart track, or the road course and then realize they aren't even close to what they thought they were. You should be fine driving an S2K in the snow. Just be careful, and besides it will make you a much better driver because you'll know how to control your car in low grip situations.

A little late to this party I suppose but anyway...

I bought my S the winter (Nov '10) after I graduated college (was 22). Up until the past month or so I never regretted it. It's not the payments, it's not the insurance, it's not the ridiculousness of it as a DD. The extra debt I accrued so quickly out of college was just a bad idea. I basically doubled my college debt by adding the car and weighed myself down to a point that I have less flexibility to do whatever my heart desires.

It's really nice driving the nicest car out of my friend group - only real sportscar even (Mini S, Highly modded WRX being the closest). It's also really nice seeing acquaintances in nicer cars that their parents bought them - I win because it's mine (my bank's really). My buddy just paid off his Mini and I've never been more jealous of that car. I'd much rather have applied all the money to my school loans and grin ear to ear in a few years knowing I owed nothing and was fully financially independent.

I guess I've had a shift in perspective though. I used to dream of being the guy at my HS reunion in the Ferrari. Now I dream of being the one with no debt and well invested.

All that being said though - no plans what so ever to sell the S.
