Wise choice. While the S2000 is no doubt a more entertaining car all around it is not convenient in any sense of the word. It is a purpose built car and not one that I would consider owning in the snow, let alone in a college environment. Much larger chance of jealous vandalism and door dings/fender benders in that kind of setting. Not a chance I would be willing to take.

Go with the Si now and treat yourself to the S2000 once you're out of school and have secured a good job.

It's true in a sun shine place like Florida. But starter is in the middle of snow.

Agree, money is the first thing to concern before all. Especially for a car like S2000.

I've owned both at the same time, 04 S, and 08 SI, though they both have their advantages and disadvantages, the S comes out on top, which is why I sold the SI and kept the S. THe SI is very boring @ normal speeds and isn't too exciting in vtec. THought the engine sound is more pronounced than the S, the S feels more raw and purpose built.. Having a 07 Camry SE was also a big factor for selling the SI too though, else I would have kept them both..

Alright guys long time update.....My brother ended up buying a used car for cheap...There is no need for me to buy a car anymore. However, I am still planning on getting one when I finish school. It's down to the S2000 or a 2011-up WRX Sti Sedan. Where did Subaru come from out of nowhere? lol well AWD that is. I just dont wanna end up like this one guy I saw posting on Autotrader saying he is selling his S2k because he needs something AWD. Sure snow tires, blah blah blah but I find switching tires every year to be costly and such a hassle(There's always the chance of no snow each winter season up here on the East Coast). Plus I just want a car with the capability of AWD also.............
In the meantime Im pretty blown. I kinda wanted to get a car but in the end my job doesnt pay well(yes, min. wage) in the first place so might as well graduate and get a good job. sigghh

Smart move! It won't be long until you are finished, have a job, and can buy the car you want (without working nonstop at min wage to make payments). Focus on school, then focus on getting a job, then focus on having some fun!
