Cali is just too far away for myself to attend 2002' S2K Days. After reading the posts and stories from the Ashville event, I wish I would have went. Another East Coast event would definitely hook me!

S2KDays is open to all people. Plan your vacations around it. It isn't important if you can bring your car, fly in and we'll get you in a passenger seat for most of the driving events.

The event is more about the people than the cars!

S2KDude - To plan a scaled-down event isn't that much work in comparison to a full-blown event. Pick a date. Pick a central hotel. Plan some drives and you are done. Maybe pick some central places for dinners and lunch. You will need some local people to scout the routes and locations of the hotel, dinners, etc.

The biggest thing you will need is insurance to protect yourself. We (S2KCA) has insurance that you can use.

Please contact us off-line and we can help you with things.

meat, thanks again. I've been in touch with Greg about the insurance for club events. Not sure if a bigger event would require anything additional.

I know that anyone could fly in for the Monteray event but not having his/her own car to participate on drives and track events does downplay some of the fun.

Even "very" discounted rates on shipping the car round trip would still be extremely costly for many people.

Other than organization, is there really any reason why there couldn't be events East and West at different times of the year?

Like we have said - regional events is what we want S2KCA to help foster. Once you have insurance in place to protect the organizers and the participants you are set.

Drop me a line on the insurance needs as that is my dept of the org.

The NSXCA has lots of people come without their cars to the NSXPO. They all have a blast and most end up driving someone's car at some point. I look at it this way - why not spend a week in the San Fran area and also have the benefit of spending time with all of us whackjobs!!

By the way, thanks for the kudos on Asheville. You have no idea how many hours went into planning that - but is was worth every second!!!

since we got such a large response to the first md/va/dc gathering, i vote to have the oct 20 meet as the east coast s2k days location.
what more can you want: maryland backroads, pennsylvania scenery, and meeting the man himself, Rick Hesel.

details here

just my 2 pesos.

Rico, your offer is certainly tempting. That area is definitely in the mid-Atlantic region which would be more centralized than Knoxville or Atlanta.

Do you think you could get any Honda dealership involvement? I think that would go a long way to helping out the event.

Hey gang, sounds like the making of a great event! Speaking for the S2KCA, we would love to help you promote and sponsor the event. And we can even offer advice how to pull it off successfully...since we, ahem, have put on the largest S2000 gathering in the world to date!

S2KDays, however, is a once a year event. We will need to work on another name, as S2KDays is just that...a once a year thing. An S2KCA-sponsored eastern seaboard event would be AWESOME and many people would be interested, no doubt about it.

So, moving forward, open the forum up to naming the event...any suggestions out there?

Additionally, once you have arrived at a location, let us know (as you are one of our directors) so that we can promote and get you all the resources that you will need put the event on.

This is EXACTLY the kind of thing that we want to participate in...we have created access to a lot of resources for things, so email me or PM me with anything you need and we'll help make this happen for you guys...

I swear, if my life could be S2KDays Asheville every weekend, I would die a happy man....of course, I would be dead in a couple of months, but hey!

We are here to help and support activities like this...any ideas on names for the event? Let's get this party started...!

Greg, thanks for the vote of confidence. What is the date for the next S2k Days in California, I didn't see anything posted?

We do need a name for the annual East coast event, a few lame examples:

1) S2K Hoot! (After the Honda Hoot held annually) ?
2) S2K Super Saturday (Implies only one day though)?
3) S2K Twist & Shout
4) S2k Dragon Days (Maybe too similar to the S2KCA event)
5) S2K Wheels Weekend
6) ????

Too late to think of any more right now, I'm sure somebody has a good idea. Anyone, please speak up if you think of a good name.

Okay, S2K Days Monteray will happen in the May/June time frame. It would be great to have that be the main event in the spring but also do something in the fall.

Anything we plan for this fall is obviously not far away. My preference for the location this year would be still be Knoxville since we already know something about it and it's located a little more centrally than Atlanta. We would just need someone up there to help out in the planning.

The poll now shows that there are 50-60 people interested in doing SOMETHING in the East.
