I will post another poll asking how many people would want to go to an S2k Mini-meet around the October time frame in Knoxville.

I'm not getting much response on this so it may end up being just a few regional clubs.

Anyone have any further suggestions?

S2k Dude-

Just an idea but maybe the lack of response is due to the fact that we have already set up a mini-meet for Sept 21-22. Any reason why we can't move your date up a month and do it in Sept?

Also I wouldn't expect a huge response like we had for S2K Days cause John, Greg, Meat, Sondra etal busted their asses for a year coordinating and promoting that Event. I doubt we'll get that kind of interest with a month or two notice, no promotion etc. I'd prefer we keep these "off season" events a bit more informal anyway. It's alot less work for eveyone involved.

As for coordination. I'd be happy to help on this end if I can. We need to do as you suggested and run another poll to determine what kind of interest there is for the Sept date and them move forward with working out the details.

I'm meeting John Speed this evening in Asheville to begin working out some of the details.

S2K Dude:

I am definately interested and I have been talking to some folks already about making some plans. . .we should all get our thoughts together as to where to have this!

I heard somewhere that "Asheville revisited" was in the making!

I am communicating with Greg STevens to see what we can do for this area!

If I can get some support then we can roll with some events!

Thanks for your interest!

I got the feeling in the last 24 hours that September is achieving critical mass. With the interest level now and 7 weeks notice, we should have a good group. I'm keeping my expectations realistic.

Who do I have to see to get this listed in the events calendar?

Mack,
Maybe we can work the same corner, you know, over where you were last time. I'll be at autocross early, showing off my magnetic AS 36. oooh! ahhh!

Hey, for the Calendar, go here...

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/calendar.php?s=...nth=9&year=2001

It should be pretty self-explanatory. Looks like Dragonball Run is off and running! LOL

Great name, if that's what you all pick...

Greg,
SOMA = Sitting On My A$$ No offense.
Because who drives standing up?

Calendar wise, is this considered a "private event"? Remember, I get lost going down for the mail. My eighties are going to be Hell for my caregivers.

BTW, I'm back.

John-

I think you need to send the details to cthree and let him post it otherwise it isn't available for all members to see. I think the private stuff just shows up on your computer not for all members. Cthree had said something about a moderator that would review and post events to the calendar but I'm not sure anyone ever took the job.

I'll be there pretty early myself. Cant wait to see the graphics.

Don't forget the gas grill so we can cook us up some grub while we work that corner!

Question:
Do Dragons have balls? Sounds like a great name.

Mack,
The graphics aren't as fancy as yours. Don't get your expectations up. I DID get a font style I like. I was jokingly thinking of a blank black magnetic panel to put the class and number on in shoe polish. That'd kill 'em.

Be on the lookout for my new gray area full face helmet. Its questionable if they'll let me run in it.

I'm down for the Waffle House as well.

Alright! Now I think we have something going. I see no problem with moving things into September if that works for others. We just need to do as much broadcasting as possible so we can get the word out quickly.

First off, do we have a designated hotel in Knoxville?

DragonBall Run is as good a name as any. We really could use a logo for that AND a flyer.

In the meantime, I'll send word out to the 40+ owners/members in our club. I'd expect we can get about half of them to go on this kind of notice

Dragonball Run - Sept. 21-22, be there!

I have a friend who may join us if I can talk him into it. He's got a Ford-150 Lightning so he can haul some stuff for us (like drinks and food) if we need it.
