My intent was not to start crap. I was merely making an observation about the numbers they posted vs the original numbers they posted with the AP1. I haven't posted enough in S2ki in a while to even realize there was a debate or a "battle" so to speak going on between the ap1 and ap2 crowds. I had no idea.
but i think no one is arguing the fact that tha ap2 while not quite as able as the ap1 on the track, is more user friendly so to speak on the road. it's simply one change for another.
out of curiosity what is the fastest 1/4 mile time an owner has gotten with an ap2??

I didn't see you as starting crap
and I think LiQiCE was just trying to circumvent the usual battle that ensues when the Pre'04 vs '04-'05 is discussed.

I looked it up. it really does use leaf springs. don't really understand this.

1. They are lighter.
2. They don't sag with age the way leaf springs do (I'm old enough to have replaced the leaf springs on my first car at about 70k miles).
However, the Corvette's transverse leaf spring (only one for both rear wheels):
1. Is made of composite material, so it's even lighter than coil springs (which are always metal).
2. Is made of composite material, so it doesn't fatigue and sag the way metal leaf springs do.
The Corvette went to a composite spring in 1982, I believe.

what ??? i was expecting S to beat the elise ....
As FF2Skip said, the major difference between the AP1 and AP2 when tracking is the gearing. On certain tracks the AP1 will run better times and on others the AP2 will run better times, given equal drivers. I like certain aspects of both cars.
