I too don't understand why parents let their teen age children drive High Performance cars! I see it all the time, an 16-18 year old driving a new GT Mustang or BMW. Then they wonder why someone got killed when they were driving fast. I can remember when I was in High School, a 17 year old boy on a date in daddy's 454 Chevelle. Crashed going 110+ mph and the girl got killed. The parents were sued and lost every thing they owned!
Give me a Break!
Make the son/daughter take and pass HP driving school training then give them a HP auto!
I too am sorry for the parents of the girl.
The boy and his PARENTS should PAY!!!!!

One again, this is another proof that the S2k is a ill handling and deadly vehicle. Don't tell me it's the driver's fault, everyone who had an accident said the same thing: I am a good driver, that will never happen to me. Guess what, its not the driver. It's the car! honda should have never sold such a car with such a unstable suspension. the ratio of accident per car sold is the highest among all cars sold in the US, even higher than the Ford Explorer! In fact there are several lawsuit pending against Honda from accident victims. I hope everyone realize this and get rid of your S2k before you are the next victim. I am glad that I sold mine before I got into one of these awful accident.
(Let's stay focused here, my friend...)

This is a very sad story...

To the ignorant, cars don't drive themselves... and the S2000 won't kill any of us. People will. Let's make sense with our words before we lose sight as to what happened... Carelessness and inexperience abound in accidents like these. Let's just hope, independent of the fact that this incident involved an S2000, that people realize these horrible things can be prevented as we have ultimate control in the decisions we make everyday... whether it's driving a car, playing ball, or writing a check... common sense and logic go a long way in everyday life.

Prayers to her and family, as well as past friends of mine who have met this same fate...

Age isn't the factor here, i've had a 95 corvette when i was 16 and now the S2k from 19 to 20. No wrecks, two tickets in two years both went traffic school for. It's not just age, it's not just the car, its all the factors put together...weather, driving ability, circumstances. My condolences to the family, as I have lost a good friend before in another car accident. These things happen...I'm sorry they do.

Do you have statistics that show that the ratio of accidents/car sold is the highest among all cars sold in the US, even higher than the Ford Explorer? I have never read this anywhere. [/B][/QUOTE]

I would also like to know who published these statistics. I have done a great deal of reserch on this car and have never come across information even remotely close to what he claims. If it does exist I would like to read it.

I also believe if you give anyone a HP car they need to know how to drive it. Especialy someone who is just learning how to drive. I would not want my 14 yr old to turn of age and just hop in my car and take off.

To the families of girl who passed away, you have my heart felt condolences.

Blaming the car for this terrible accident is like blaming the gun when some idiot shoots up a high school.

I agree with those stating inexperienced teens shouldn't be behind the wheel of such powerful cars. Most of these teens do not have the self control to understand the results of their actions. Needless to say, most teens don't have a good grasp of driving dynamics resulting in foolish/risky manuevers.

The accident is an unfortunate one and resulted in the loss of life. This lends credence to the argument that inexperienced kids should not be permitted to drive high performance vehicles.
