Just put the soft top into the CR and call it a day. You'll never notice the difference with the to in and the rear strut brace gone, although you may miss the tonneau cover.

This brings me to my question. I'm about to turn 50, so I should have at least 20 more years of being able to drive the perfect roadster. Will my CR last me 20 years? Should I wait to see if Honda gets its soul back and introduces a fitting replacement for the S2K? Should I buy another S2K now and put one away for my next car? I ask because I see one available locally which has obviously been pampered - it's even wearing touring tires which implies that its driver hasn't been testing the limits of adhesion. The price is right, at $14k for a 2001 with 45k miles (and it's my 2nd favorite color combo ( )).
My opinion: you've spent a long time earning the life you have now, but for everyone life is finite. If you are in the position to be able to buy happiness, don't hesitate.

I'd jump at the chance of owning another S2000, especially if it means my CR can relax in the garage for a while; however, if I were in your position, I'd definitely buy something different because owning two of the same cars wouldn't be all that fun after a while.
I'd go with something like an NSX, Elise/Exige, Cayman S, etc. Hell, even a Boxster S since you're interested in owning a roadster.
