I wouldn't call it small. It's large enough that it quickly and clearly conveys necessary info to the driver. I guess it all depends on what you're used to.

I'm 5'8"/170 and have no complaints. Keep in mind that the seats are sport seats, not the plush easy chairs that most cars have. You'll appreciate that in the twisties.

Meh. Priorties. It's beginning to sound to me like you should be shopping for a GT instead.

I've never even considered using the cup holder because A) I've never used cupholders, just bring a bottle and B) It's in a pointless spot. B doesn't really matter because of A. The interior has everything I need, a radio, push start, steering wheel and shifter, and not a whole lot much more. Convenience is something you give up for the experience, it's a part of the character of the car if you ask me

I never complained it was too small, it just surprised me.

I love the seats, they're actually really comfortable, just figured if you're a little chubbier than me that you wouldn't be able to fit comfortably aha.

I don't care about cup holders, I'm actually looking at an AP1 instead of an AP1 which only has one. I was just saying how they didn't look like cup holders.

I'm 6'1". Same problem. Feels awkward.
I just use the arm rest on the door panel, but it kills my elbow after about two hours. I still <3 the high doors, though.

I'd pay some attention to the engine mounts, it should not vibrate on start up. Mine is an 02 with 55k and it doesn't vibrate. They do shut down a bit rough like a diesel shutting down but on start up they should be smooth. A little bit might be normal due to wear and tear but it should not be overly noticeable. Just my two cents.

The seats are nice just a bit narrow for people with wide hips ala fat ass, like myself. I've always found it hard to drive the car for long periods of time (highway trips) as I need more rake adjustment than what the car allows, I just wish I could angle the seat back a bit more, it is more an issue of my back than the car being uncomfortable though.

My first impressions back in 2000 were wow the door sill is high! The second was the how sweet the tach looked when the key was turned.

You shouldn't be resting your arm on the door while driving, you should have your hands at 10 and 2 on
the steering wheel getting ready for those twisties! I actually find that to be the most comfortable
position to have your hands while driving.

I personally didn't find it too bad coming home from the Dragon one year, did the entire 1000+ mile
trip in one day and felt ok at the end of it and I'm old. Car was plenty comfy enough for me and
I'm not 120 pounds either.

I had a new 2001 Miata and my first drive of a 01 model came in 02....that took me by surprise and made me want one, i drove a new one in mid 2003 and read about the changes coming soon, also at that time every dealer had a $5000 add on to the cost...by 11/03 that had disappeared and the 04 had come out. i bought it without driving it, so in 11/03 i then drove my new 2004 car out of the showroom and to a gas station for my free tank of gas included in the purchase price. i have never regretted my purchase to this day.
