...and avoid EXTRERNAL scratches by always making sure the back window is clean and free of dust and particles before opening the top. Using a Window Protector Tube (ie Miata Tube) or a towel will also greatly reduce these scratches.

My rear window had major scratches after a year of ownership. When I took it in to the dealer for its first service (because of time, not mileage), I asked them to look at it and they replaced it under warranty, even though I was probably at fault for not taking care of it properly. Since the new window, I've put a cotton towel underneath where it folds and another in the top from the outside whenever the top is down. This adds about half a minute to the top lowering time, but it's worth it. Another year later and there are absolutely no scratches in my rear window, and I haven't bothered with the polish, even though I bought some.

Either buy a proper mat for protection or use a cotton towel and the window will stay nice.

After trying the cleaning products, and you still have scratches, you might be able to get the dealreto replace the window for you under warranty. Some people have had it done.

I use the Meguiars stuff for cleaning and Plexus for maintenance. I also have a Muz Mat and use a towel on the outside of the window before I lower the roof. It prevents creasing.

plexus should remove most of what you're calling scratches.

I used Plexus and wasn't happy with the results. Top was down all summer and when I put it up this fall there were a few scratches but alot of cloudiness. Plexus wouldn't remove the cloudiness.

Went out and got Meguiars #17 Clear Plastic Cleaner and Meguiars #10 Clear Plastic Polish. Used #17 first to clean the window and remove scratches and cloudiness and the #10 to polish it up. Window looks like new again!!! And after only one application, both inside and out.

But you need clean applicator rags and need to follow the directions completely! I used almost an entire bag of rags bought at the car accessory store. As soon as one rag got a little dirty, out it went and I got a new one. Worked great in cleaning up my window.

Good Luck.

Once you have it all clean, Plexus is good as maintenance.
