I agree. Get the Mazdaspeed6 if you want that 2.3L turbo. It has more tq and is AWD. I enjoyed mine, just too big and not enough driver input. The trans is half has good as the s2ks. Fast as shit from a stoplight though!! And sounds sexy with an intake..

yea ive been trying to find an evo or sti in my price range (16k). I have found some wrxs but they have too many miles on them, and i am not impressed with subarus reliability when it comes to small parts. The motor will last a lifetime, but other parts have always gone wrong for me in the past, brakes especially.

for 16k you can probably find an 04 or 05 STI, should be too hard.

so lucky we don't have the winters that you all have in the states, get to drive the S year round.
Only about 1/3 of the "states" get that kind of winter. I'm an hour south of Washington, DC and there are usually only about a week each winter of weather not suitable for S2000 driving, I drive year round and even ride the motorcycle a few times from January to March. I'm moving to South Carolina next year though so I can drive even more in the winter.

Midwest winters are the worst. I chose to just buy a daily driver. I've always had 2 or more cars since I was 17. I love the S2000's fun to drive ness. I can't go without it. It's such a blast. It has reasonable practicality as well. I can still fit groceries in the trunk. I drive mine pretty much daily in the summer.

When I have to tow/haul/drive in shitty weather/drive more than 1 person, I use my civic Si. I also use that car to go to work and school because...well...people in parking lots behave like animals.

Even though I just (this past week) ITR swapped my em1, I'm still more psyched to drive my S2000 that ive had for 4 years lol. Infact, I didn't even drive my si for 4 days after swapping it because the S2000 still gets me pumped to drive it.

Winter isn't something I'm willing to do with the S2000 since winters here DESTROY cars. I wouldn't be able to get rid of mine tho. You'll definitely regret selling yours.

Why not just buy a daily? Like a civic or integra or something else cheap and winter friendly.

THIS!

If you can afford the insurance on an S2000 you can afford to get a $2,000 1995-ish Civic 4 door to drive to work or in bad weather.

I paid $800 for my 93 civic 3 years ago. I have put 30,000 commuting miles on it and it is the car I drive in bad weather or when I have to go some place not S2000 friendly (ie: downtown parking on the street, rough neighborhood, etc.) A beater pays for itself! I saved over $600 in gas alone in just 30,000 miles over driving the S2000, not to mention how much body damage I have probably saved by not driving the S2000 in the snow/ice or in bad parking conditions.
