30 minutes in the car and the shift intervals will all come natural. Speed through the gears can be overlapping and I doubt that anyone really makes any conscieous attempt to shift at any exact point on the tach. Don't attempt to turn driving this car into a job and you'll quickly learn to enjoy it.

Sure ...be careful down shifting especially fast. Many people have mechanically overrevved their motor by accidentally going into 2nd instead of 4th. You can't over rev it using the throttle as it has an auto cutout. You can however do it mechanically on a missed downshift. Things break when that happens.

Your real power begins about 5800 rpm, that's when your vtec rolls over.
Take your car out on an autox course ad learn what it can do.
Be xtra careful i the rain.

Have fun

Is something wrong with your keyboard? I can't help but notice you have typos in all your posts.

Either that, or you my friend are extremely clumsy and lazy!

The shifts will come naturally, the gears in this car are very short, I often find myself in sixth going 40mph.

He means the car's manual. All S2000's are manual transmission.

I don't mean to be rude, but is english not your native tongue?

did you get the manual with your car? it has the shift points for best fuel economy in there. i cant remember off the top of my head but they base it by MPH not rpm.

i think its something like...

1-2 - 15mph
2-3 - 25mph
3-4 - 40mph
4-5 - 48mph
5-6 - 52mph
start with this and modify to ur driving style, personally i sometimes shift at lower points to economize on fuel, i'll shift at 2500 rpm, so in the next gear the rpm drops to 2k and speed up until rpm reach 2500 and shift again and so on.
