when i get it and start driving and get used to it i will make a thread about my experience as a first time s2000 owver/driver.
Read the owner's manual, read the FAQs on s2ki.com, search "wrecked my car" on this site to learn what people were doing when they crashed... and DON'T do that... see first part of this post.

Don't shift in a turn, don't VTEC in a turn (esp when wet), don't VTEC in snow, YMMV.

1) Check what tires are on the car. Some sellers put new, but CRAPPY and incorrectly sized, tires on a car to sell it. If your car has the stock 16" wheels, you need to use 205/55/16 front and 245/45/16 rear tires. (Also realize that some high-performance summer tires absolutely suck when it's cold or wet.)
2) GO TO AN AUTOCROSS. With what appears to be your lack of experience, an S2000 can really bite you in the ass with serious consequences to both you and the car if you don't know what you're doing. An autocross where you can go wild with very little risk of hitting something is a great way to learn how the car behaves, and how it needs to be driven. It'll also reduce the temptation to do stupid stuff on city streets.

2 common mistakes for newbies with this car.
1) Misshift overrev. I was ripping through the gears trying to go from 3rd to 4th but landed in 2nd. When this happens, get back on the clutch right away to save your engine.
2) Spinning out in the rain. This car can get very very tail happy when it's wet out. Just because you're not using the wipers, doesn't mean the roads aren't wet. That tricked me once.
Sprinkles in the early morning. When I started driving, there was no rain. In a rush to get somewhere, I took a left a bit hot and added gas a bit early and it was 360 time.
I say don't push the car until you have some autox time. Autox in dry and rain taught me the limits of this car. Sometimes the driver trainings are $200 a class but it's well worth it. After the seat time, you will feel more confident in driving the car at it's limit and knowing how to save the car when you start losing it.
Have fun!
