By shifter I meant my car's.

I find that my shifter is knotchy when cold and buttery smooth when warm

LOL, it wasn't my intent to confuse anyone. It's just that CKit's comment seemed like very bad advice, and I wanted to understand his thinking and/or intent.

I showed my g/f (who has an s2000 and it's an ap1) how easy the tail comes around in this car the other night by entering a right hand 100-110 degree turn coming off an on ramp at 27 mph in 2nd gear.

at about the apex of the turn i tapped the gas and got sideways happy and corrected it. She screamed Then on the way home i showed her what to do instead when it's raining. Told her to NEVER gas it in a turn, always wait till you're on a straightaway and drive much more slowly than normal, i stay in a gear higher than i normally would too, as to have less of a chance of breaking the rear loose with a power induced slide.
