This is the best answer so far
Sometimes I can be in 6th by 38mph and sometimes I'm having fun at 75mph in third.

6th gear at 38? Seriously? I don't go into 6th until I'm above 50...

Depends on how I'm driving. I shift by feel, not by the tachometer (except when redlining) or speedometer.

..and if you didn't want to have to rev then you brought the wrong series of car. Even the original S's were high revving cars.

My Lexus certainly beats my S in certain areas but comparing the two is fairly pointless. The Lexus is a plush boat compared to the S.

Slower acceleration is expected, but its still on par with an AP1 around the city. As long as its not slower, then its fine.

Not really. Socal is full of soccer moms who accelerate off the line as if they were being chased by a rapist. I rather not have to redline my car on the streets just to keep up.

LMAO. I rev the Honda because I have to. Its not like I shift at 2k. I just prefer not to shift at 6k or whatever for daily driving.

I consider the engine load at such a high gear with a low speed...but it's still above 2k I think in 6th.

5k for DD, I cruise around 3-3.5k. Using the on ramp for the freeway = 9k.

Yeah, Rod does things a little differently.

Without a grade 6th is good for me till about 35mph, typically keep it in gear when coming off the free way. While the car will cruise just fine 40mph in 6th when I step on it, it doesn't seem to like it.

I like to keep the motor above 2.5K.
