Not too unusual, really. Many here feel the S tranny shifts better in the higher rpm range and after it is well-warmed. Try this and also make sure the clutch is staying fully depressed the whole time (don't scoff, many admit to being in a bit of a rush and grinding). If this doesn't improve your shifting you could change out the tranny fluid. Beyond that, don't skip gears for the good of your synchros and give them a little time to do their job.

Thanks for the Tip. I'll also check into changing the Oil in the Tyranny, being I got a nice road trip to Grand Canyon's coming up next month.

damn dude if your shitting at 3000 rpm i have a solution for you, lay off the taco bell! j/k i couldn't resist. i too have had the notchy feeling in 3rd gear even when the car was fully warmed up. missed a couple of shifts because of it. however, the notchiness hasn't appeared ever since i changed the tranny fluid. maybe you should try that out.

another possible issue might be that you're cutting straight across from 2nd gear, to 3rd gear, rather than going from 2nd, straight up to N, and then let the stick 'float' on it's own to its natural center, right below 3rd. It's really really easy to do while you're getting used to the new gearbox. I find myself doing it every now and then when I rush a shift...

Enjoy your new S!!
