Default Shocks and springs

i need help selecting adjustable shocks and springs. what is the best combination i can get for less then $1000. just comfort/track. OR i should just get coilovers? but i dont want coilovers like the R2 cause my friend track his car with that coilover and that didnt work out right. is it better to just do it myself by selecting my shocks and springs?
thanks peps!!!

Unless you spend a LOT of money and a fair amount of time dialing the new setup in, I'd be inclined to stick with the OEM setup at least until it is worn out. Putting a sub $1000.00 suspension on a new car is just pissing money away with no improvement IMO. I would imagine you will end up with handling worse than stock. The stock S2K suspension is a very high quality high performance setup.

What's the best horsepower mod I can get with $24 dollars?

And what's the best high-performance track tire I can get for under $80?

A: 120 gallons of premium fuel as opposed to 87.
B: Used and well worn.

the two most popular suspension options seem to be the pss9s and the kw v3s with koni yellows. the pss9s are a little out of your $1000 price range, but they're probably what you're looking for. go to tirerack.

if you just want to lower your ride height, get a set of springs and call it a day. spend the rest on an intake/exhaust/test pipe/gears/etc and you'll be happier with your investment.

I have pss9's on my AP2 and love'em...but check out shox.com first. They have much better prices on the pss9's than most other shops
