1) I'm making my point by using the "half the tire off the ground" reference as exaggeration.

2) This is how fender rolling could harm the car:

3) Did I ever say that fender rolling negatively affects structural rigidity? No.

4) "Reasoning" has very little to do with my post. I'm stating facts, expressing my opinion and asking for others' opinions. I did get an "A" in logic class though.

5) Putting the stock wheels back on and getting it re-aligned is still something extra you have to do.

6) "Ricey and immature" is only "IMO," like I stated. If you disagree, fine.

7) I actually own my S and a 1996 Jeep Cherokee and split time driving them. My S is not soley a track car.

8) I look at my car almost everyday too and love the way it looks.
So you are close minded. There are lots of people like you.

I'm not closed minded. There are various S2000s on this site, some very lightly modded, some heavily modded, that I drool over.

I'm simply saying that I don't like the extreme cases of the mods I mentioned, and I wanted to get other opinions. You and I obviously disagree and that's fine. This type of conversation is exactly why I started the thread.

The fact is, we are all car enthusiasts - specifically enthusiasts of the s2000. Our cars are an expression of ourselves which is why we choose to add the parts that we add. This discussion has been had many times before on this forum. Aggressive wheel fitment isn't just a fad and it isn't like it's new. People have been doing this forever. There aren't too many s2000 owners that push the boundaries as far as wheel fitment goes. Like you, I think there is a certain point where it may look a little overboard but I can respect the work it took seeing as how for the most part, we choose to use quality parts and take the proper precautions before attempting it; but hey, it's not your car and you don't have to drive it!

It's the car owners $$$ so who cares? If it make them happy then be it. If you don't like the "MAD SLAMMAGE YO!" threads don't click on them. No one is forcing you.

If we all followed the norm then where is our individuality? That is what makes each car different.

Alex, he was just stating his opinion and not blatantly bashing you, I don't know why you are taking it so seriously...

I'm paranoid about getting +45 wheels and rolling the fenders to get them to fit. I don't know how you guys could be confident that while under a hard cornering situation you don't destroy your tire/fenders. I respect the work done, but I agree with the OP.

Can't we just appreciate the fact that we will ALWAYS have different styles of cars.

TRACK
SHOW
LOWRIDERS

My friends and I had a discussion a few weeks back about this. Cali cars - dumped, beautiful wheels, straight gangster cars. Why? Cali has the most restrictions on performance mods, so they have to go exterior mods.

Personally, I LOVE the way socal cars ride!

OP: spot on! A car whose frame practically sits on the ground, whose front wheels can't be turned all the way to the left or right without hitting the fenders, and has so much camber that only the inner-sidewall is contacting the ground is impractical, retarded, dangerous, and makes about as much sense as running thru interstate traffic blindfolded.

Today's (stereotypical) youth need better role-models and a huge dose of common-sense.

Maybe the difference is the viewpoint of a 19 year old guy from S Cali and a 27 year old guy from Louisville.

Round these parts, we can run our cars at a pretty good clip in the twisties without a great fear of law enforcement. Basically it's because rural twisty roadways are unregulated for speed other than the basic maximum speed laws for the state. That means that if the roads are twisty and hilly enough, you can have a blast while never going more than 10 or so over the limit as long as you can keep it reined in down the straights. You can blast through a 15 mph curve at 50 and power through a series of swtichbacks and have a hell of a good time. To us, handling is everything. We rarely sit in bumper to bumper traffic as most of us have other cars for that. Not to mention that VilleS2K has a bitchin' new private road track just opening up almost in his back yard.

How can arguing be impractical, retarded, or dangerous? Your statement makes very little sense.
