But then I also don't get offended as a Swiss when I'm asked by foreigners to say "Cheese !" before they take a picture !
These BMW owners use the term rice to attempt to put us down. Why? Jealousy? Envy? A flattened wallet? These are all possible reasons why these "enthusiasts" act the way they do. I personally am offended as describing my S as a rice rocket. It has happened and it has always come out of a Euro driving jerkoff. I have worked hard to modify my car with class and clean lines. When some moron tries to take a lame wack at my investment you better believe we have a problem.
Secondly, it can see the term ricer or rice boy being offensive to a person of Asian decent. I will not speak for these people as I am not Asian. I am pure breed Italian and I can tell you that when a remark comes out of someone that is off color or demeaning to the Italian people, once again we have a problem.
Sorry for the rant. M3s and nationality was intertwined in the thread so I figured I'd keep it going.

All i can say is, that some guys on the net, on this forum and every forum, are just like my mom, a label whore. if its not the brand you are looking for, no matter what it looks like, feels like or does, it cant possibly be even remotely good. i have been into cars my whole and have never understood the nature of this. i value every car for what it is. i mean every car.
I am not alone. for the first time, this weekend i took my car the track to really learn how to drive. i was the only s2000 among 200 or so cars. about 80 of them were BMW. anything ranging from old 2002's, to a brand new M5. there was even that yellow f360 modena that was in sport compact car a few months ago.
whatever bashing you see on the net is just plain ignorance. i was approached by so many owners of different cars that absolotely loved my car and wanted to know more about it. true car lovers do not segregate, they appreciate. and guess what, most do. so please, do your part, ever car deserves love
