Soft Top Rattle Fixed!
I apologize for the lack of pictures in this thread - I had planned on documenting the fix in detail (obviously including pics) but I become far more concerned with getting my car fixed than posting a how-to. However, I will do my best to rectify this and present a few more details. Also, if anyone is still unclear on the steps, please feel free to PM me and I will take you through EXACXTLY what was done.
As I mentioned previously, the fix was done in 2 parts - initially, when we began our search for the tapping/rattle I was about 75% convinced that the sounds were coming from the bars above the window. It seemed as we drove around, additional sounds could be heard from the crossbars all the way to the area over the roof latches. Our first step was to remove the plastic covering to the center bar. The below thread contains pictures of the bar I am speaking of and is highlighted with a red arrow and text (thanks to onlyinrio for that one!)

With the plastic covering removed, and no chance for the casing to contact the bolt, we could then assess if this had solved the issue or additional sounds were prevalent. In my case unfortunately, there was more to it. At this point Jeff suggested we install the hardtop strikers - when I first began investigating a fix for my soft top, I had come across several threads relating to the addition of the hardtop strikers. However, I assumed this would not help as I was not experiencing any sounds from the latches. My dealership also felt that new strikers would not help out
The material used to insulate the plastic covering was essentially foam tape. Jeff told me that this tape was included in the hardtop kit and was used to cover the electrical wires upon installation
