Default Softtop folding weird... need advice

My softtop has been folding weird. It happen about 3 times so far. The middle frame or the bar that is going horizontally right above your head when the top is up, it does not get retracted all the way which makes it stick way too high when the top is down all the way... I am not sure if I described the problem so that you see the picture... but for those that had this happen, let me know what's up

ssanae77,

Happens to me all the time.

I have to push the bar back manually.

What's even worse is that my window likes to crease up right dead center when I drop the top.

What a pain.

Happened to me when I first got my '01. My '00 never did that. I thought the top had a different frame at first. But after moving it around a few times, it has folded correctly ever since.

My '00 does the same thing. Of course, the dealer doesn't have a clue how to fix it!

Mine has done it since it was new, with both the original top and the recently-installed replacement. I was going bonkers trying to fit the boot cover until I figured out that the top wasn't folding properly on it's own and was sticking up further than it should.

Just move it back and forth a few times when the roof is semi open - this should loosen the hinge a little.
