Some misc stuff.
Ok, three months of ownership under my belt.
1. This car is fun! I've added a monster sound system, as the stock system wouldnt be enough for a phone booth. Put in an Alpine somethingortheother, a Rockford Fosgate BD500, a JLw6 in a custom box, a seperate amp and jbl side speakers. much better. Now i can hear music with the top down. And it added about 80lbs of weight over the driven wheels, so its not a completely horrible thing.
2. Ive been driving down to LA and back the last two weeks (Im in the bay area). Done the 101 and the 5. The 101 with the top down on friday afternoon is awesome. And I find the stiff suspension quite bearable.
3. Other than that, the car is stock. A friend of mine has a similar car with the comptech blower on it. I like the extra power. Sucks that it exacerbates the problems inherent in the s2ks power curve. Oh well. Im waiting to see what pricing will be like on the blower once comptech has an aftercooler/intercooler for it.
4. Noticed a few rattles. But I gather thats the norm. If tey really start to annoy me, I'll hunt them down.
5. Question: I was coming back from LA, and had the opportunity to
on some high speed curves. It was cold at night, and I had the heater on. On sweeping turns, the car cabin would get cold. As if the top was leaking air out on a turn. found that very weird. Anyone else experience this?
And for the record, I have a 01 Silverstone Metallic, with 15k miles, still on the original S02s (and boy, they need to go), with the clutch recall performed.
