Spa owners, help me with decision
Spa yellow is my personal favorite color. I couldn't find an 03 Spa when I was in the market so I went with an 05 SSM which is, as said above, a very classy/subtle color. I would go Spa in a heartbeat - just loose the amber signals - makes it look dated/tacky. Spa + JDM Chrome/clear headlights + AP2 bumper = win.

Its great, but women seem to think its a tad bit more adorable than the rest of the colors.
I've only had my Spa for about a month and a half, but I still love it. When I was looking for an s, I wanted a Rio, but I couldn't afford an AP2 so I found a Spa for a great price and jumped on it. I'm VERY happy with the color, I love it being so noticeable. I haven't had any problems with cops yet, I'm hoping I never do.
In my mind, sports cars are supposed to have sporty colors, the ONLY exception in my mind, is white, because sports cars can also go for the "clean" look, which I LOVE. Top 3 fav colors are Spa/Rio, GPW, LGP, in that order. When i was in the market for an S I was on a budget, but I knew I would regret my color choice if I had anything else other than yellow, because like I said, a sports car needs to have a sports car color, I bought an S2k because I wanted a sports car, to finish the "sports car look" you gotta have a sports car color, To me, this was Yellow
NFR is also a good sports car color, but i just dont like the look of NFR on the s2k, same for ferrari, if i were to buy a ferrari, it would be yellow, if I were to buy a lambo.. well it would probably be white, but yellow would be an option too, not red though, just my taste though.
If your like me, part of the reason you bought a flashy car, is to be noticed, and the yellow sure does bring alot of attention, and honestly, I love it, I love knowing that when i pull up to the drive through, someone is PROBABLY gonna compliment the car, whenever its parked, I like making it look good, and enjoy people stare at it when they drive/walk by. Going down the road I find it amusing to watch people nearly break their necks to check out my car.
Unfortunately, that means the cops too, I lived in the DFW area, in an area notorious for its cops, they LOVE to pick on the younger crowd specifically (many of the kids here are spoiled brats, one kid who went to my high school got an sl500 for his first car) so the cops were out like crazy, naturally, me being fresh in college, looked like one of these high school kids, and ive been pulled over 22 times, and issued 12 tickets (4 were dropped) and i was falsely arrested for felony evading (was also dropped)
[Anyone wondering how i got the exact stats, I keep a counter on a chalk board
]
I drive my car somewhat aggresively, but to be honest, I dont drive nearly as aggresively as one would think by just looking at the stats i posted above
Do I think its because of the make/color? absolutely, one good example is the other day I was driving through a school zone, going prolly 5 under (personal rule for me with school zones) there was a guy lasering on coming cars, now if you know anything about laser, the light doesnt scatter well, so if my radar was going off, its because he was lasering me. I was in the front of the pack, and there were about 3 or 4 cars behind me, he sat there and lasered me the entire time I went down the road, never lifted up, never lasered another car, kept it on me the entire time, and when i passed him, he turned around and shot me again from behind (no pun intended)
Sorry for the essay, but this should give you a good idea of what (atleast my experience) of driving a Spa is like, would I do it again if I could go back in time? Absolutley, but would I buy another yellow if i totaled it tomorrow? I would probably go with white, to try something different, but if i were to get a CR, i would definitely do yellow again, because it would be sick to have the yellow interior as well
