I checked mine with a few hundred miles on the car and three were so loose I could spin with my fingers and the 5th was at or under 8ft/lbs so I don't think you can say it takes a prolonged time. I tightened mine down a the time and had em replaced a couple of weeks ago. So definitely check them and tighten if need be until you get the car in
I did'nt realize the F20 had a 5th plug

Had to say it

I guess you missed those other threads? I checked another Calgary owner's plugs AFTER the recall was done. Not only did the dealer give him the STOCK plugs (no "s" designation) but the torque readings on them were as follows:
Plug #1,3,4 were all @22#s.
Plug #2 was @15#s.
He was told the dealer's best S2000 mechanic worked on the car.

Anyway, I checked my old plugs the same day and they were all @15#s. About 2 months ago, I had screwed them down to 20#s. Now the big question is: Are the plugs "unscrewing" OR are they staying in the same configuration and only the crush ring is weakening?????
An even BIGGER question: WILL THE NEW RECALL PLUGS SHOW UP WITH LESS TORQUE IN ANOTHER 2-3 MONTHS?????

To answer my first question, next time I check them (which may be soon), I'll INDEX the plugs at a specific torque (like 20#s) and recheck them 2-3 month later to see which is the case.

The 2nd question is easily answered. I'll see if that same Calgary member will let me check his new plugs in a couple of months.
Another Calgary car will be going in next Monday for his new plugs at the same dealer. He wants me to check their work immediately after. I'll report back here with what I find.

I spoke with the tech that did mine yesterday and he talked about torque changes and in his words the new plugs he installed were a "little hotter" than the old ones.

I got my letter on the spark plugs a few days ago. I got around to calling Hendrick Honda in Charlotte last night around 5 pm. I purchased the car out of state so I have not dealt with them before. They were aware of the recall and asked when I would like it done. I jokingly said tomorrow morning and they said what time. I said 10 and they said see you then. I dropped the car at 10 walked around the lot looking at cars and came back at 10:45 and my car was done. Very painless and an excellent service experience all the way around. The plugs are indentical to the old plugs. The only difference is a new crush ring on the plugs. The part number is the same except the addition of an S at the end to indicate the new crush ring. There is a small sticker that comes with the recall kit to update the torque in the owners manual. If they have the sticker I would assume they had the kit and you got the proper plugs. There was another post here with a picture of the new and old plugs where you can see the difference in the crush ring. George
