Whilst I undestand the concerns expresed here I think we need to put things into context. Yes, the plugs will loosen of their own accord but they will do this over a prolonged time NOT in a matter of weeks or a few thousnd miles.

If you are concerned then certainly check them but rest assured that once you have tightened them properly the risk is minimal for quite a long period - certainly long enough for Honda to get the plugs and have the dealer change them for you..

I had the plug recall work done today and I asked the tech just how loose the plugs were. His answer was "all of them were loose and one was starting to work it's way out"I own a 2002 S that I purchased in October of 2001 and now have 6,900 miles on it.I'd suggest you get it done ASAP(took 30 min)...but it's your car.

I called my dealer the day I recieved my letter(Monday). Their initial responce was that they have never heard of such a thing but they will look into it. The next day I called again and they said it's nothing to worry about, what you have is normal. I swear my dealer's service is horrible! They said 2nd gear grind and the buzzing are normal! I'm thinking of just asking the Acura dealership's service department if they can do this work for me! It's either that or I will try to find a dealership in Nashville that will do it for me.

I must have the best dealership in the country...

had the paint peeling problem around the bumper/fender and the dealer agreed to repaint the whole bumper under warranty with no questions asked....

loose console cover was missing a washer...they ordered the part and it arrived within the week and installed it in a few minutes

...and then got the spark plug notice letter Tuesday..rang up the dealership and they knew all about it..I was actually the fourth call that day and they said they had SIX sets of plugs in stock so they put one aside for me and I am having the work done tommorow.

BTW, I did not buy MY2002 at this dealership (they are still asking $39K and are selling at that price!)

Looks like you all need to come to Sarasota for your needs!

sumir, run don't walk to another dealer to get this done. They may be telling you it's nothing to worry about because the service writer has no idea what your talking about and his lack of knowledge may screw up your car,as I said before all 4 of my plugs we found to be loose...does that sound like something not to worry about?...please people look into this ASAP

I tell you guys what, don't have it done and prey that your dealer is responsive. I own a 2001 S2000, and it's not run since February (Mardi Gras) of this year, due to a loose spark plug! But look, see it for yerselves!

My dealer said they won't have the replacement plugs in for a month, so i'm saving the letter from Honda & will call them back in a few weeks. Thus, I figure it can't be too big a deal...
