It's not that there aren't others...it is that this is the best one I have found out of all of the local ones

Sad part is that I don't typically demand much from them, as this is the first Honda recall (or problem of any kind come to think of it) that I have had.

Apparently reading the TSB is rocket science.

It specifically says "Faulty spark plug gaskets can cause the spark plugs to loosen.

Can only speak for myself, but I found the service people at my dealer totally responsive, reasonable and cooperative.

rjm161 - I agree you have right to courtesy, respect and responsiveness. You are a customer. I agree that if a dealer refused to check the plugs for a customer, the suctomer has a right to be upset.

As regards the TSB - - the issue date is July 10, 2002, just under two weeks ago. While it would be nice to have everything in place on the same day, obviously Honda has a series of things it is doing: issuing the TSB, sending out letters (snail mail), distributing replacement parts to dealers, and scheduling the replacement for customers.

Just because the TSB was made available on this site within days of issuance, doesn't mean that Honda is not doing a good job in taking care of its customers.

I share your concern about driving a car with a potential signficant mechanical problem, that's why I went to the dealer. But I also trust Honda to do its job properly. That's why I bought a Honda. We bought our first Honda, an Accord, in 1979. We've owned two Accords, a Civic, and now the S2000. With more than 20 years of 100% satisfaction with Honda products and service, I trust them to handle this problem to my satisfaction.

I hope all is well with your S2K and that your dealer can make you happy. Obviously not all dealers are doing a good job of taking care of their customers, and this is something that Honda corporate should know about so it can be rectified. Thankfully we have an outstanding dealer in our area.

My CRV is under the ignition switch recall. Been a month or two since I heard about it, but still haven't got a letter. The car still starts fine.

"Dr. Dr. help me please, I know you'll understand
There's a time device inside of me, I'm a self-destructin' man
There's a red, under my bed
And there's a little green man in my head
And he said, "you're not goin' crazy, you're just a bit sad
'Cause there's a man in ya, knawin' ya, tearin' ya into two."

Silly boy ya' self-destroyer.
Paranoia, the destroyer

Self-destroyer, wreck your health
Destroy friends, destroy yourself
The time device of self-destruction
Light the fuse and start eruption

Yea, it goes like this..."

I just got my letter and called Weseloh in San Juan Capistrano.

Unfortunately, they didn't have the parts in yet. However, they expect the parts next week and scheduled an appt. for me in anticipation of receiving the parts.
