LondonRam, I have the best service dept. in Florida in Naples - they are rated #1 in Florida according to Honda. I took a copy of the TSB in to the service mgr. and he also had it. He didn't have the parts yet but said he would call me as soon as he did, then he offered to tighten my plugs down to 18 lb/ft as a precaution. Got his call on 08/01 but was going on vacation to Arizona - my God you people are lucky to have roads like that, Roller Coaster Drive in Tucson would be an excellent ride - anyway, scheduled my appt for today and had the car back in an hour. I truly feel for the people out there with such poor service from their service depts. - I think I would blow a gasket if I had to deal with such inconsiderate people That said I guess the only way to help yourself is to change service depts, if you got service like that at a restaurant you wouldn't give them your business again - do the same at your service dept. OK this was way too long

Just curios, after you get new plugs and gaskets, is there any initial break-in period, or can you rev up to 9k like normal right away?

I have never heard of a break-in period for spark plugs.

Only diesel engines need a break-in period for spark plugs

I'm exceptionally happy with this TSB, I took it in with a list of "problems" more like issues that I have seen lately.Low idle occasionally and an annoying buzzing sound on decel Yep they are ordering a new Clutch since TSB 054 sounds like what I described even though they did'nt hear it.

So maybe you need a grocery list of complaints to get things done or possibly they just finnally got tired of me whining about my clutch, anyways I'm happy now

(Disclaimer - I am ignorant) Wouldn't the gasket that is replaced along with the TSB work need to be "broken in"? I can understand that the spark plugs are "plug and play" but I would think that any gasket needs to be worked in.

I just had my 2002 with the TSB and my dealer D&C honda was great they gave me no problems and showed me what the TSB was all about and explained what that was all about and also if I had any problems to check with them and they were happy to answer or fix any problems on my vehicle Im sorry to hear that other dealerships are bad out there!!!!! Always report bad Service to American Honda and if problems are really bad get a lawyer a friend of mine did that with BMW and won so good luck everyone by the way my car runs smoother and also responds better maybe its me but my S is running great!!!!!

No, the "crush ring" on a spark plug is not a gasket as such.
