Here's a thought....

WHO CARES!

Derryck's kit is not meant to be emissions compliant by most states requirements. Florida for the most part no longer has emissions. If you live in Fla. or you have a way around it in your state buy it, use it. If not sit back and be patient. Something for you Cali and other people will be available before you know it.

I've run turbo's with and without "snort" valves. When possible use one. You guys are beating this to death for little reason.

Because people want to know and are confused. Look, some guy was asking me questions and I explained. People obviously care about what's illegal and what's not, there's nothing wrong with deeper explanation and theory. How about you not read it if you don't like all the talk?

good question! let me guess....NONE!!!
one of the reasons I go for Comptech SC is that it passes
California Smog Check!

I'm pretty sure this setup is not steet legal.... just look
at the Greddy street legal kit compared to the FMAX/DRAG/RevHard turbo kits on the markets now for Civics/Integras. None of those passes smog except the Greddy kit. On dynos, Greddy makes way less hp compared to non street legal kits.

good luck passing smog, just my 2 cents.

Until you guys talk Derryck or someone else into putting the system through a actual emissions test and posting the readings you will not have your answer. Technically unless you live in Florida, the system is more than likely, not legal. That does not mean you can't get it through your states test under certain conditions (such as a blind inspector or a friend).

And yes, you guys have beaten this "BOV" thing to death. Bored or what?

the wheels that derryck mentioned do not require any sort of cutting/modifications to the car, providing you use the configuration provided. i think there is a group buy on these wheels somewhere... i know tirerack.com has 'em as well...

chris, good luck... has your mechanic mentioned the possibility of having to modify the compression ratio of the car for a turbo application? the s2k is 11-something to 1, and i know historically this has caused alot of engine problems with turbo modifications... the audi s4 is 9-something to 1 i believe...
