i just put mine in a lathe and drilled out the bottom to drop it down lower, the problem with just removing the nut is that it hits the shaft, so you need to enlarge the bottom of the knob to actually drop it down. now mine sits about an inch lower and i love it.

What you did only works for MY00-01. All other MYs have a knob that will fall apart if this is done. So be warned.

I've heard of a few people taking their shift knob to a machine shop to have it threaded farther down, so that the stock shift knob can still be used. I personally just invested in a lower sitting knob such as the MUZ...

very good point, however i had it done to my03, you just need to epoxy the cap, (which is the shift pattern) back on and you should be good to go.

I switch back and forth from my Stocker to my VooDoo Magnum. I did find a while ago that you can wrench the lock nut a decent amount further down on the shaft which gives you a few more revolutions down on the stock knob and still the ability to lock it w/ the shift pattern showing correctly.

This was a one-off Rick's Voodoo knob. Rick will no longer engrave S2000 on his knobs. This design was an error and only one was made.
