Hey, maybe this joker isn't the CEO and founder of StoneGard? It might just be a competitor messing around?
Why else would the owner of a company that charges a PREMIUM for expensive plastic film be so rude and disrespectful to a customer and take the entire stook community for fools?

It could have been a reaction to two or more chemicals on the lens. SCS2K uses a cleaner on the housings; it is safe for use on the plastic but leaves some residue. Several weeks go by and SG is inalled on the car. The Installer uses a cleaner on the housings. These two cleaners have a reaction and cause the damage we have all seen. Even the glue on the SG film could have played a role. I'm not saying the SCS2K did anything wrong, but the cleaners could have been safe to use. But combined they may not have been.

I didn't think it was an attack. I just want it to be clear (no pun intended) that I didn't use anything unusual on my lights.

Why speculate as to all the possible causes and interactions? This is about customer service and honoring a warranty. Do you have to disprove all other possible causes for a problem when you bring in your car, or other product, for warranty repairs or parts replacement? I hope not. There is no excuse for StonGard's treatment of a customer in this instance. Don't get sucked into StonGard's defense of their response to the problem here. I'd imagine we could find a clear plastic to put over our headlights to try to protect them, and in so doing we would have assumed the risk that it might cause damage. StonGard and their installers hold themselves out as experts both in th eselection of the appropriate material and the manner in which it is to be installed. They warrant their product and treat the customer like dirt when he attempts to avail himself of that warranty. Nice.

I just want to add one point, since there is a claim of slander hanging out there:

When SCS2k posted that Stongard ruined his lights, he was initially met with a good deal of skepticism from the community. If there was a rush to judgement by him (which is not clear at all), it wasn't that rush that did harm to the company -- instead, it was through the subsequent discovery of the facts, in combination with the CEO's response, that caused many of us to abandon interest in purchasing Stongard.

Just thought I'd put that on the record.

Ya but how often is it that you will get the ceo to respond and register on to one of these forums and give a response, not to often i beleive? I give him my respect for taking the time and effort to respond to the concerns of us , even if his response didnt gain him any new customers.
His product was attacked so he defended it, why his product did this we wont no and he probaly wont either.
