Default Strut Brace

i'll make this short and sweet: Is it worth buying a front strut brace? or is it basically just for looks?

thanks in advance

I don't think it makes a big difference in day to day driving.

There is a bunch of reviews here at the buyers guide for s2ki.com but at the time of this post, it isn't working. Try it later.

I have one. No discernable difference. This car is pretty stout already.

Not worth it, but to not have one will bug you. So just buy one and get it over with

I'm looking for one, not for handling enhancement but just so I can rest a hand on something while I'm working in the engine compartment, ie: topping off oil, checking oil, etc...

I've heard this one but never tried it.

TEST: For cars without a STB.

Take a piece of twine or other non-stretchy string and wrap it around the two shock tower bolts really tight. Go for a spirited drive and the string will be broken, basically dispelling any myth that a STB is ineffective at dampening flex or vibration.

Here's another one. If they are all ineffective, why did Honda felt a STB was needed in the rear of the car?

As you have an '04 model it is already stiffer than the previous model years and I don't think it is necessary in our cars to have the STB. The string test would be an interesting experiment to find out for sure. Let us know.
