People like you are the reason we all pay high rates and "uninsured motorist" insurance.

"Fake" insurance is illegal and just plain wrong. SO no don't buy an S. I'm pretty sure you have no intention on insuring that car either.

Hey, I thought the same thing when I was 16, so no flame intended. . . Auto insurance covers more than just damage to your car. It also protects you against any injuries to you, your passengers, and bystanders (medical bills are expensive). You are also protected against property damage (say you drive off the road and hit someone else's property). Finally, auto insurance protects you against uninsured/underinsured drivers. So, if your brother were to run into your car, and he had "fake" insurance, but you had "real" insurance, your insurance company would pay to fix your car right away (rather than making you wait for the outcome of a lawsuit). By not having insurance, you are personally responsible for covering the costs of any such accidents and resulting lawsuits. In fact, if your auto shop "buys" your car for you and you get in an accident, the shop itself could probably be sued (not a lawyer, so this is just opinion).

Finally, if you were awarded a settlement from a school, there is a good chance that the $$ came from an insurance company.

Don't worry, we were all 16 once, and had "great" ideas like "fake" insurance. . . or shooting BB guns at your friends, or jumping off a 20 ft. roof into a snow drift (maybe it was just me). Once you realize the dangers to you and your family of having uninsured drivers on the road, you'll understand.

What does "w/e" mean?
Is it "what ever"?

The internet is such an eye opener. I never would have guessed people actually think this way.
