like most have said; if you want a ITR then go for it. I had a 98 ITR for nearly 9 years, what a awesome car.

I love hatchbacks, and for its utility, I still miss the '94 Integra RS I had, before I bought my Impreza. Trunks suck.

But, I'd never sell an S2000 for an ITR. They were awesome for their time, but that was 10 years ago. Sure the S2000 is getting long in the tooth, but it's a much better performer, if you ask me.

Why Honda never brought over the RSX Type-R, I don't know. Especially since the WRX and Evo came to town (plus the R32, et al), and the old ITR used to be king of the sport compact club. Nothing could touch it. The Type-S RSX was nice, but no Type-R. It seemed a foolish decision, on Acura's part.

Although the Type-R is an amazing car, I could never imagine going back to FWD. Never.

It'd be a great autocross car because you can throw four race tires in the back. (I had a '97 GSR and did exactly that.) Otherwise, if you don't need the room in the back, I say stick with the S2000.

i did a road course several years ago in my gsr and i loved it and the car preformed well. since i moved back to NY from AZ i havent done and real spirited driving cause theses cop every where. the s2000 was my second rwd car ive had in 10 years of driving my first being an 85 AE86 corolla gts hatch. the CR is nice but really dont want another payment. as for collectablity and long term value i think the type-r has the s2000 beat. thanx for all the feed back keep it coming. ive also posted on the itr forums and im gonna see if they have the same responce.

I was just gonna say talk to Silentdancer about this issue. He sold his S for a type-r. Six months later, he is back in an S. I agree with this being a downgrade. Even though the rarity is higher in the type-r, I think the S beats it in all categories. I'm not really sure the concept in trading except for the rarity factor. I see you have a tc, so I don't see room being an issue. Still, both cars are very nice, I just don't see the purpose of trading your S for the R just based on the facts.

I would consider going to a Type-R if it were going to be my only car. You just can't top a hatchback for utility. However since the op already has a "useful" car, I can't see why a Type-R wouldn't be a step back in terms of looks and performance from the S2000.

Keep the S unless you're getting rid of both of them...
