Default for those who experienced weak vtec...

was an early fuel cut / rev limiter the major symptom?

how did you remedy this problem? was the MAP sensor TSB a permanent solution?

lastly, was this TSB free? i was told it cost a bit.

1) If you truly mean a rev-limiter like action long before redline, that's simply the engine protecting itself when cold. Wait until it's fully warm before exploring the upper engine speeds.

2) If you mean an intermittent hesitation like action when in VTEC, yes, that's most often MAP sensor related. Try the MAP Whack yourself first, and if that doesn't fix it take the car into the dealer. I have no idea what the cost will be, but it won't be free.
