I get this thump noise from time to time. Hasn't happened to me recently. Guess my tranny must finally be broken in a bit.

Hmmm?? I guess is it possible for you to keep us updated on the "thump" noise? As for the driver's headlight, i believe it's purposely aimed lower so it isn't such a "blinding hazard" for on coming traffic. And on the other side of the globe...its the right headlight that is purposely aimed lower. Is there anyone else that can confirm this??

I have been experiencing this SAME quirk with my '02!!! No matter what the temperature and if it's warmed up or not, when I put the shifter back into first gear while I'm sitting still, I hear a noticeable clunk and feel it also. It sounds like it's coming from the rear of the car though. Diff or driveshaft maybe? So this is not normal huh? Time to call Jim Coleman Honda!!

Well the reson this thump noise cauht my attention was because when i bought one of my supras it made the same noise and it turned out to have a broken bracket and everytime it went into gear the driveshaft bangged into the body of the car. honda said its not normal for this to happen so if its the same thing im not to happy with a tranny problem with only 750miles on the car and only 150 lbs of torque and shits breaking???????

I'll be interested to see if this is considered normal. Mine "clunked" when I backed out of a space on the dealers lot, the day I bought it. It felt like a bit of slack in the drivetrain to me. I hope there's a good explanation for it, so they don't have to monkey with my new baby.
