I have a great deal of respect for cops(when they are acting like cops). However, when they are acting like tax collectors, I have zero respect for them!

 

I got pulled over once after I had just waxed my car. It looked gorgeous and shiny. Was out for a drive and got pulled over because the cop saw my radar detector (I live in VA...they're illegal). I asked him what the fine would cost. Forgot what he told me, but I sort of frowned and he said "not like you can't afford it." That kind of pissed me off. Otherwise, if you're driving with common sense, cops don't seem to be a problem. At least around Northern Virginia.

Move out of the sticks man Officers in cities have better things to do with their time other than hassle you for traffic tickets

 

So it's 1 AM, you make an illegal left on red directly behind a cop. You're lucky he didn't write you for driving on the wrong side of the road. What? You pulled in to the right lane? That would be illegal even if it were a 1 way street. Just suck it up and pay the ticket, man.

When I was going to grad school I lived in the sticks. I had a modified Mustang with a loud exhaust, and I was on the receiving end of much harrassment from the local cops too. Made me sort of realize that it's not necessarily only that imports attract prejudiced actions, but as long as you are driving a flashy car, you will attract attention, good and bad. Of course this phenomenon is naturally much worse in the sticks.

 

dude you did something for him to pull you over... here in California if you breathe wrong they will pull your ass over, haul your ass out of the car, and the rest is history. Oh and FYI anytime a cop is asking you something when pulling you over please think before you answer because those questions no matter how stupid have a purpose.

Hopefully he didn't write a false report and everything goes smooth for you in court but again I have had cops write false reports about citations as well so good luck!

I would expect a cop to question me about drinking if I turned left at a red light onto a one way street..
