I respectfully disagree. Having test driven both, I bought the S over a Mazda. IMO the S is better looking and I fit in it better than the Miata. Cost of ownership is not a concern as it doesn't see DD use. But it all boils down to preference.

Fast is indeed relative for me as I also own a 400 whp monster capable of doing sub 12 second quarter mile times with a good driver. Based on my own experiences and ownerships the S is slow, but a ton of fun to drive.

 

I definitely get funny looks at 5am when I'm commuting, it's anywhere between 47-52 degrees and I'm riding top down and heaters blasting

 

i think the S has pretty good zip to it, yes its not a 1/4 mile built car but who cares?
as for the cobra comment being fast i would have to disagree with you on that one (at least stock ones), i always have mustangs trying to race me and the 4 cobras i have raced were about 2-3 car lengths behind me when i hit 140mph or so. but maybe it was also just their drivers not knowing how to put it down, 60% driver 40% car when racing.
as for the road rage, when i was younger (im 30 now) i had a real problem with it. but once you have had a few guns pulled out on you because someone cut you off and you had to tell them off while swerving at them, its really not worth it.

Honestly, yes I think THEY think they have something to prove seeing that we drive cars that get more attention they theirs even IF their car's sticker price is higher then ours. So in my effort of demishing this jelous hate that they have towards our cars.....when ever someone is on my A**, I keep my calm....wait till they get a little closer, I speed up as they try to keep up...THEN SLAM MY BRAKES.....the look on their faces as they swerve to the left or right nearly wrecking their vehicles...in some cases jumping a curb popping a tire.....PRICELESS

 

Get this last week I was on the freeway topdown on my way to the TopDown meet and this newer z4 with the top up pulled up next to me then pulled over put his top down then races back up next to me to show he could put his top down too and preceded to drive like a prick.

So, yeah I would say people tend to mess with you more when the top is down but who cares enjoy yourself.

 

The worst thing ive gotten is "bus stop" hoe's tryna get a ride

 

^^I always have something like that happen but it's usually around high school and college girls. They'll throw the left hand out and thumb up to try and catch a ride. Comes out when they see my car and goes back down when I pass them. Too bad...These days I'm looking for a woman that can teach me a thing or 2 in bed. There are those beauties that catch my eye that are 19-25 I just wanna "bang".

 

ricers just hate cause their never gunna have a s2k so they play the macho card and diss u or try to race u just because...its stupid...it happens alot more with the top down lol
