Default Transmission Frustration

my 01 S has 6500 kms on it, and i have one bitch , 3rd gear engagement is a less than smooth, after the first few shifts into 3rd the shifter wants to push back against the palm of my hand, all other gears are fine, tried redline , gm synchromesh , and mobile 1 trans fluid, still there, any suggestions, have taken it to the dealership, no answers yet?

Change clutch fluid? I found that by bleeding only, the clutch fluid comes out easily and clear. Pumping the pedal a few times caused all kinds of black crud to flush out of there. After that flush, felt like I had a new clutch and much better shifting.

at least your tranny fluid did not start draining out at 11,000 miles. I am still waiting to get my car back.

There is a TSB out for the problem you are having. The third gear (and fourth I believe) syncros need to be replaced. I know this thread is old, but in case this info helps...

Changing trans fluid and and differential fluid does wonder!
Do it quick if you haven't done it.

I use GM Syncromesh for trans fluid and LE607 for diff fluid. They are awesome

I change both tranny and diff @ every 15k mile interval.
