Default Trouble Seeing Out the back!

yo, my s2k is a 2001 so i have the plastic back, at this point i cant really see out the back very well. i just bought the car about 2 weeks ago. i noticed the back was hard to see out of but i didn't care at that point. what my question is, will honda replace the back plastic under warranty? since i can say its a "health hazard" since i can barely see out the back it causes the risks of accidents. has anyone else gone to honda and gotten this replaced for free? what would be great is if they did a call on all 2000 and 2001 hondas and designed a glass back for it like the 2002 and up. maybe if enough people complained they could do that. but anyway, does anyone have any info on that. thanks alot

Ryan

The issue here is that people (yourself included) bought this car the way it was designed. We all knew the back window was plastic and was susceptible to "aging" as all plactic windows on cars do. I don't see why any of us should press Honda into giving us something to change what we knowingly purchased.
Besides, the plastic window on this car is easily "cleaned up" and made to look like new and kept that way.
Also, there have been a few threads on this forum where owners have, at their own expense, replaced their plastic windows with a top that has the glass one. Personally, having been in S2000's with the new, much smaller, glass window, I actually prefer my larger plastic window, even though it takes a bit more effort to keep it new looking.

Mine was the same way when I bought it. Downright dangerous because I couldn't see out the back. Take some plexiglass cleaner and a whopping 1/2hour of your time and it will clean up no problem.

Meguiar's makes a polish and a protectant for plastic windows (and light lenses). It works very well. Gotta stay on it.
