Had both service bulletins done -- and it is a completely different car! The shifts are ALL buttery smooth now. No notchiness between 1-2 and no clunk from 2-3. The deceleration noise is pure engine -- as opposed to the awful craziness before.

If you THINK you have a weird decel noise/notchy tran etc.. get the work done.

Just one problem. My check engine light won't go off. They've ordered an air sensor something or other??? They said I shouldn't worry about driving it -- hope their right.

Well, good for you that the TSB fix went super.
but bad for you that they messed up to induce Check engine light. They said don't worry about driving?? Bad people! Well yes you can drive alright but you may be in the limp mode and you can kiss the funtec goodbye until the situation is resolved.

I concurr! The 054-055 work I just had done last week was the best thing I've doen for my S2K. It is so smooth now, and the decelleration noise is almost all gone! Sorry to hear about the sensor though. I am sure it will get taken c/o. happy motoring!

After I got the car back from my clutch replacement, the check engine light came on as well. Brought it back, and they found a hose was loose somewhere. Fixed it and the light went away. BTW they had to reset the ECU, and let the car idle for 10 min for the ECU to analyse the running characteristics (?) of the engine. Always amazed at the new technologies nowadays. Still remember when I had to tune my old car which had double Weber carbs.
HTH.
