Since there are no return springs for the clutch pedal
I just checked and I have a return spring just above the clutch master cylinder (under the dash, next to the firewall). I think that the spring coils were greased to fix the squeak. At any rate, climb in the car head first, then look up under the dash, next to the firewall and above the clutch master cylinder, you should be able to see the return spring. A light is a good thing to have in hand when you crawl into the car. It helps to move the clutch pedal when you are looking for the spring.
Good luck,
Bob
I stand (sitting...) corrected. There is a spring at the top of the clutch pedal assembly. I might try lubing that, too, as with the slave cylinder bleed screw loosened, my pedal does not spring back after being depressed.... That's why I thought there was no spring....
Good job, Bob.
Good job, Bob.
I would like to thank everyone for helping me out with the clutch sound. I looked inside at the clutch and pushed it a few times then had my wife push it while I was looking underneath the car. I am positive that I can hear it better from outside the car. The sound seems to come from the bottom part of the engine area where the clutch possibly comes out. I just can't find an exact spot though. Thanks again.
