two S2000's crash in Philly 1 dead.....
Call it an accident or a mishap lets not lose sight that this really is very sad for all involved.
We here in the Delaware Valley area have a very tight group of owners who get together very frequently for meets and drives. Sometimes some not so smart driving follows. We all realize the inherent dangers of driving, but yet still enjoy driving with our fellow owners. We do try to limit the dangers, seatbelts, communication, non residential driving, etc. but as others have pointed out I think we all bought this car for the thrill of the
I was very relived when I got a call back from a fellow Silverstone Philly owner who lives very close to where this happened! Not that I wish harm or injury on anyone, but was just relived to hear from our friend. We are still trying to get in touch with some of our other members.
I guess (not to preach) I would just like to see everyone be a little MORE careful in their driving pleasures, and WHERE you chose to do it. This is my only issue with this horrible incident. That and seatbelts ALL THE TIME.
This road (Roosevelt Boulevard), was recently voted as having TWO of the 10 MOST dangerous intersections in the country! And apparently school was just about to let out in 5 minutes after the accident. So lets all be thankful that this tragedy for however horrible it is when someone loses a life, could have been much worse had innocent children been harmed.

I feel sorry for the families. If you speed/race, you risk getting hurt. It was their choice and their consequence. A lot of accidents could be prevented and losing a life at such a young age could have been prevented. My outlook in life has changed very much since my girlfriend's brother died this year to a brain tumor. He was only 31. He didn't choose to have this disease. So when I see kids smoking, or doing things that can hurt their life, I just shake my head. Because if they get lung cancer, I won't have any sympathy. I would feel sorry for them for having the disease but not for the choice they made to smoke.
Have to agree with Russ also, yes it is tragic but at 20 most people do not have the experience to handle a fast car. I had about 5 or 6 accidents in my late teens and early 20s due to mistakes and mis-judgements.
In the last 15 years I've had one minor low speed impact.

Sorry F1s2000, but I disagree. I don't think anyone here would have purchased the S2000 if the speed was limited to only 55MPH. Speeding alone doesn't kill... its speeding under unsafe circumstances, such as heavy traffic or wet conditions, and trying to maintain that speed.
