Sounds like a great idea, maybe you guys can get sponsors from some tuning companys to head out there as well and give DIY clinics and stuff. That would be awesome and also have some other huge company sponsor the event like yoko or somthing of that sort.

we are getting a lot of buzz about it in the hampton roads area of virginia. my co-worker (poindexter) is waiting for a phone call back from the marketing manager. this would be a BLAST! there isnt a doubt in my mind that magazines and television companies would show.

fall colors is a great meet but this would just be AWSOME! plus it can be done in alittle bit warmer weather

I just got off the phone with my Honda Rep. Honda will definitely be interested!

They need more information to get seriously involved though.

1. Estimate of who can attend
2. Any costs on Honda's part
3. A date
4. Where?

My rep thought the idea of meeting at one of the plants was awesome! I propose sometime between June and August of 2004.

Keep the ideas coming - I hope we can gather a list of the people who are definitely interested. As soon as the list breaks 500 people we've got something to approach Honda with for some help. Honda can also help with media coverage.

I used to plan large scale events - not of this scale but a few hundred people. I'll be happy to help coordinate whatever is needed. Keep in mind that funding for this would have to come from somewhere to get you going (you'll break even on attendance I assume, but you gotta have start-up capitol). PM me if you want assistance!

Any help is great! I have no idea what goes into planning, but I offer my assistance with Honda.

There are already several multi-state / national S2000 owner meets that happen every year.

There's the Fall Colors Tour in October in Maryland, I believe. http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/forumdisplay...p?s=&forumid=97

There's also Sac2kDays in May/June in north California. http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/forumdisplay...?s=&forumid=105

DragonBall run in eastern Tennessee. (Includes the Dragon.) http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/forumdisplay...p?s=&forumid=49

The Outer Banks Run in North Carolina. http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/forumdisplay...p?s=&forumid=70

S2KCA's S2KDays in various places, with official AHM support. www.s2kca.com

Of course, while S2KDays was in Austin this year, all the others take place near one of the coasts... I think the highest amount of cars participating is somewhere around 130 - 140, so I'm not sure the 500 number is at all possible.

Oh, and don't forget the Midwest Megameet '04, possibly near Chicago sometime next spring. http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/forumdisplay...?s=&forumid=121
