You should def. get an aftermarket HU with the stuff you have. The sound will be significantly better.

This thing has a radio? I haven't used it at all this year

Actually, when cruisin on the Autobahn at 240, I can't hear myself shout, so why bother with the radio!

How much to push - well, since adding XMSR(the sound is SO much better than normal broadcast radio and even CD's) I push it to about 25 without distortion and incredible bass from the stock head unit - bass I never heard before XMSR. If you have not heard what XMSR does to the sound from the stock radio, you have to find someone with it to believe it. And 12-14 is NOT pushing it

stock unit - top down, around low-mid 20's. side mirrors vibrating
top up around 13-15. higher if I want the side mirrors to vibrate

the stock units is just ok... have heard a lot better, but I can live with it. who needs music when you can hear the engine and exhaust!

I was just thinking about posting this same question when after several searches, I found this thread. In my 04 with the top up, I tend to run 14-20 for radio (decent volume) and 16-24 for CDs on the factory player. I do not have the optional headrest speakers. Below 14 is OK, but sometimes too quiet for my preferences. In other vehicles with other radios I could not imagine getting over 10!

So this must be unique to the MY04 of having a "bad"/sensitive scale of volume adjustment?
